Impala is making the process of booking hotel rooms ridiculously easy. We're providing hotels with a powerful data distribution infrastructure that transforms the way hotel guests across the world browse, book, stay and pay. Think Twilio for Travel.

We launched our original API product in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous old clip. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points. A brief overview of what you will be doing here:

You will be a key contributor to new frontend services, ensuring a high level of quality for both our code and our user experience. Your role will involve analysing and optimising the product and technical performance of features to continually improve customer experience. You will work closely with the Impala design team to create an enjoyable user experience.

You should join us if:

• You have strong experience and expertise with ReactJS and good knowledge of JS fundamentals.
• You are comfortable working closely with product owners, designers, UX experts and the ability to translate their designs/requirements into maintainable, componentised UIs.
• You have experience with the design and consumption of REST APIs.
• You have knowledge and ability across the stack, and are able to contribute to and build out backend services where necessary.

Where will you work?

This is a remote position. This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London timezone (and less than a 3 hour flight).

As a Backend Engineer, you will work on a small team that develops the core systems that power Instawork's staffing engine. This includes our dispatch algorithms (matching workers and businesses), payment systems, and realtime geo-location services. Backend engineers are also responsible for scaling our development practices and production systems.

Your role at Nylas:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, you will be responsible for developing new interactive content on nylas.com and improving our existing website development and infrastructure. About the role_

You’ll work closely with our team of platform engineers to improve and expand the server-side software that manages and deploys Cmd’s agent into customers’ Linux environments. Our ideal candidate has a passion for technology, is a great communicator, and has an interest in contributing to the full product lifecycle (design, implementation, release, operation).

Skills and experience_

• 5+ years experience as a software developer
• Experience working with Go
• Experience working with Linux, relational databases, Prometheus, git, and Bash
• Understanding of HTTP, TLS, and the web browser security model
• Experience designing, coding, optimizing, managing/deploying and troubleshooting highly-available, load-balanced, secure, HTTPS-accessible services
• Keen ability to communicate (verbally and in documentation) and share work with others on the team

• You're capable of developing criteria to prioritize tasks
• You're eager to collaborate with engineers to enhance the feature development process
• You possess self-awareness and a passion for continuous improvement
• You have a keen ability to communicate the thinking behind your decisions
• You can identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems

• Familiarity working with HTML, CSS, Javascript and/or GraphQL
